This project is based off the SVG map of the United States available on Wikipedia.org. The original file can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Map_of_USA_with_state_names.svg. I have also downloaded a local copy to my server. It has been greatly modified and supplemented. The only remaining original code is the borders and actual state <path>s.
To use this map, hover over a state or its capital and read up on some facts about the fifty nifty united states!
These files were sectioned out of the original SVG of the USA map and are not used. They are kept for posterity.
